Ukdiche Modak is a popular Maharashtrian sweet dumpling made during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. It is made from a filling of sweetened coconut and jaggery, flavored with cardamom and nutmeg. The outer covering is made from rice flour dough, which is shaped into a small cup and filled with the coconut-jaggery mixture. The modaks are then steamed to perfection, resulting in a soft and melt-in-your-mouth texture. Ukdiche Modak is considered Lord Ganesha’s favorite sweet and is offered to him as a special treat during the festival.
